Laser acne therapy
Calibrated Pulse Light (CPL) is the latest technology that is an improvement on IPL. One of the uses of this device is the therapy of acne vulgaris and rosacea. The light waves are absorbed by the bacteria responsible for the formation of acne, destroying them in effect. Another effect of the treatment is the reduction of the size of the sebaceous glands and, consequently, the reduction of the amount of sebum secreted. Various skin mechanisms are used during acne treatments. Short wavelengths are absorbed by the porphyrin and cause the destruction of propionibacterium acnes. Longer wavelengths heat the water in the dermis and reduce the size of the sebaceous glands and, consequently, reduce the amount of sebum secreted. At the same time, the activation of fibroblasts stimulates the synthesis of collagen and other biomolecules, which improves skin firmness and density and prevents the possible formation of acne scars.
‼ ️For the best results, the therapist will recommend a series of 6 treatments at intervals of 2-3 weeks. Due to the fact that the procedure can be performed every 6 weeks, combination therapy is necessary. 4-10 treatments are recommended depending on the Pd phase of acne.
