The first treatment of Laser Closure of Blood Vessels  XLase Plus is preceded with a dermatological consultation. Our qualified Clients will have a patch test.

  • avoid aspirin and other blood thinners
  • the skin should not be tanned (suntan, self-tanner)
  • important – 24 hours before and after the procedure do not consume alcohol
  • the skin should be clean – creams and lotions shouldn’t be used
  • the skin is cleaned

The procedure does not require anaesthesia. The laser is often felt as a minor burning or pinching, which may be increased when closing the vessels in sensitive areas or when closing larger vessels on the legs. The comfort of the patient is improved by applying a cold gel on the skin during the procedure, and after the treatment cold packs are applied to the area. The treatment area will be slightly red, and a small scab will form, this will fall off after a few days.

After the treatment, increased skin sensitivity may occur.

  • A few days after the treatment the skin should be treated gently (rubbing with a towel,
    alcohol-based cosmetics, soap or exfoliating cosmetics should be avoided)
  • For 2 – 3 days moisturising creams and thermal water should be used if possible
  • Applying makeup to the treatment area is forbidden for 4 – 5 days after the treatment
  • Sunbathing is forbidden for 4 weeks after the treatment; it is required to use creams with
    SPF +50 or above
  • For 4 – 5 days physical exercise, sauna and solarium should be avoided
  • Extreme temperatures, such as the sauna, wind or frost should be avoided
  • For 2 weeks after the procedure it is forbidden to use exfoliating cosmetics
  • It is advised to drink a lot of water to help regenerate the vessels

Possible rare complications after Laser Closure of Blood Vessels treatments with XLase Plus may be:

  • erythema and swelling (edema) – these symptoms occur immediately after the procedure and should go after a few hours
  • linear epidermal calluses – pigmentation changes appearing after the treatment, which should disappear during the healing process; the patient should use a topical antibiotic if the area is sensitive or red; calluses will come off (fall off) 5 – 10 days after the treatment
  • hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation – both symptoms appear during the treatment and they are usually temporary and should disappear after a few months
  • hair removal – side effect of the treatment with use of a wavelength of 940nm on the treated area
  • redness – may appear 1 – 3 days after the procedure and persist for up to 14 days
