Facial Laser Hair Removal (light hair) (ND:Yag)
we perform epilation and not depilation treatments, which is very important because epilation is the removal of hair permanently, while depilation only removes hair temporarily. Epilation of light-coloured hair, until recently, posed considerable difficulties, and permanent removal of grey hair was downright impossible.
The world-class 1064nm Nd:Yag laser head from the Xlase Plus body is undoubtedly a breakthrough in this field. With it, it is possible to epilate grey, blonde or red hair on the face.
The light beam emitted by the 1064nm Nd:Yag laser is absorbed not by the hair pigment, but by the haemoglobin of the blood vessels at the bottom of the hair follicle. The light energy is converted into heat energy and thus destroys the hair follicle and papilla, and consequently the hair. As with dark hair, light hair must also be in the anagen, or growth, phase for the epilation treatment to have the desired effect.
For fully satisfactory therapeutic results, the treatment procedure must be repeated several times at intervals of 6-8 weeks. This is correlated with the periods of the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle. The treatment involves shooting one by one at each individual hair and only in this way can we effectively damage the blood supply to the hair. Compared to other lasers, it provides a very comfortable treatment with minimal sensation.
The first Laser Hair Removal treatment is preceded by a cosmetological consultation. Those qualified for the treatment have a laser test performed to determine the optimal treatment parameters for their skin phototype.
- the skin within the area to be treated must not be dry or irritated; if required, emollients (moisturising, oiling and soothing creams) should be applied several days beforehand, however not on the day of the treatment
- the day before the first treatment the treatment area should be shaved – a square of about 5 cm should be left to assess the colour and thickness of the hair, this area will then be shaved by the person carrying out the treatment
- aspirin and other blood-thinning substances should be avoided
- skin must not be tanned or treated with self-tanner
- important – alcohol should not be consumed 24 hours before and after the treatment
- the skin should be clean – no creams or lotions should be applied
- the skin is cleansed
The procedure does not require anaesthesia. The action of the laser is most often felt as a gentle stinging, burning or pinching sensation, which may be more intense when the treatment is performed on sensitive areas on the body. There is a slight redness in the treated areas. The person carrying out the treatment strives to make the patient as comfortable as possible, and our clients leave the surgery with a sense of satisfaction and excitement at the results to come.
Complications after Laser Hair Removal occur occasionally and are usually related to non-compliance with the rules of preparation for the treatment and post-treatment.
- Rare (permanent and temporary, lasting up to a few weeks) – skin discolouration, scarring and bruising,
- Often occurring (short-lived) – mild sunburn (lasting up to 1 – 2 hours after treatment), redness of the skin, periorbital swelling (intensity and amount depends on the sensitivity of the area), blisters, scabs and erosions.
A natural symptom after treatment is temporary swelling and/or redness of the epilated skin area.
- The skin should be treated gently for 2-3 days after the treatment:

- do not use deodorants or antiperspirants (if the hair removal concerns armpits)
